W-League talent boosts Gap FC Women’s NPL squad

By Juniors Editor on

The Gap Gators have secured the services of 20-year-old, former Adelaide United midfielder, Jayah Brown for the 2017 season.

The Sunshine Coast product played for Adelaide back in 2013 as a 17-year-old, racking up nine appearances.

Since then Brown has played for the Sunshine Coast Fire and Buderim, but has been hindered by injuries.

Gap FC coach, Rob Askew, had planned on adding a W-league level player to the squad, at the start of the off-season, and Brown now fills that role.

Looking to the rest of the squad, defender Ashleigh Bucknall is looking likely to return from an injury spell in the coming weeks.

On the other hand, attackers Greta Bodey and Eden Jones are looking likely to miss a fair chunk of the first half of the season, with no date set on their return from injury.

Here’s how the Gap Gators will look for the 2017 PS4 NPL Women’s season.

The side's first home match, at Walton Bridge Reserve, comes in Round Three against Souths United.

The Gap are aiming to win three PS4 NPL titles in a row and are still undefeated from last season.
