Gators secure one of league’s best for 2021 NPLW

The Gap FC is proud to announce that attacking sensation Madison Moy will join the Senior NPLW squad for the 2021 season.

The Brisbane northside local started her football journey with Bardon Latrobe in 2005. A naturally-gifted player, Moy was selected into Queensland representative teams in 2010/2011, and by 2015 she received the callup to join the Brisbane Roar Youth program. A string of knee injuries halted her journey, but Moy worked hard to return, picking up with the Taringa Rovers in 2018 and leading her side to a grand final win by scoring the winning goal.

Her performances caught the eye of Mitchelton FC who signed Moy for their 2020 NPLW campaign. Moy had a standout season, scoring eight goals and gaining regular selection into the NPLW Team of the Week.  At the end of the season, Moy was selected into the 2020 NPLW All-Stars squad which saw the state’s top footballers come together to take on the Brisbane Roar W-League team in the inaugural Kappa Festival of Football tournament. In a stunning upset, the NPLW All-Stars beat Brisbane Roar 2-1.

“I am really looking forward to furthering my game this season under the guidance of a well-respected coach,” Moy said. "It’s great to be surrounded by so many talented players in a supportive environment.”

Having paid close attention to Moy’s performances last season, Gap FC Technical Director and Head Coach, Mick Gallo, said it was a no-brainer to target her for the 2021 season.

“Maddie is another player we feel will have a huge season, and no doubt should well and truly put herself in contention for representative honours again in 2021,” Gallo said.

"Having played for The Gap previously, it is great to be able to bring another player back to the club to build our campaign long-term. Maddie brings both an exciting game style and uplifting presence on the pitch, but more importantly, she fits the culture that we want to grow off the pitch as well.”

The Gap FC welcomes Maddie to the family and wishes her all the best for the 2021 season.
