Five Gap players representing Brisbane at Community Cup

By Juniors Editor on

The Gap FC has five U14 players representing Football Brisbane in the inaugural Football Queensland (FQ) Community Cup tournament to be hosted in Mackay during July 2018.

Aidan Cadoo, Diego Ugarte, Kasey Rees, Henry Clark and Flynn Pupovac were selected after trials held in March and April.

Along with the Gap FC, the squad includes players from several clubs including University of Qld, Brisbane City and North Pine and Albany Creek. These are the same clubs that the lads go into battle against each week as part of the Brisbane Youth Premier League (BYPL) competition.

More than 80 teams and 1200 players across all age groups are expected to compete in the new state competition. With a great experience for all involved, the event will also provide National Premier League (NPL) selectors with an avenue to identify talented developing players for NPL programs. The carnival will also foster deeper skills, new friendships and build stronger bonds across the Queensland football community.

Training for the squad started last week, we wish the players and team good luck in Mackay.
