A couple of special mentions…

U12 Div 1 Girls

Some excellent first-half play had the girls level at 0-0 at half time and everything to play for in the second half! Unfortunately, they couldn't hold on for the second half and went down 2-0 to UQFC in the end. Special mentions go out to Lucy M for keeping a clean sheet in the first half with her steady hands in goal, Bella H for a sterling effort in defence, and Olive R and Eloise W for a huge effort across the whole field! Big shout out to Abby D for coming up with the team war cry so that will get a run next week too! The girls are getting closer every week and are confident that a win is not too far away!

U16 Div 1 Girls

Tough conditions for Sunday's game with the wind blowing a gale straight down a bumpy field on a cold, early morning. Add to that the fact that the team had no subs on the bench meant that the girls had to turn up to play hard the whole game. Despite that, they took control early playing against the wind and managed to get four different scorers on the board to take a controlling 4-0 lead at the break. Going with the wind in the second half should have been an easier assignment but it wasn't quite as easy as expected. Pushed a little too hard and lost structure slightly but still managed to hit the back of the net a couple more times to finish with a 6-0 win. A great result for the whole team given the conditions and number of players.
