Club Referee Courses Announced

By Editor on

Football Brisbane is pleased to announce the Football Queensland Club Referee Programme to be introduced in Brisbane.

The proposal has been introduced to address two major concerns over the lack of accredited and registered Match officials to cover all matches at senior and junior levels.  The club or volunteers then need to fill in often without adequate knowledge or interpretation of the Laws of the Game.

With Football Queensland we propose to support this programme to educate and officially recognise the volunteer officials and in the future develop a communication method to appoint these persons to scheduled matches.

The programme is not an alternative to obtaining qualified referees or to take a way the integrity of the accreditation but to look at other options to increase our referee numbers and it is hoped that this programme will encourage more people into the comprehensive referee community programmes currently provided by the zone with a full development support network.

There will be two programmes launched:

  1. Club Referee Programme
  2. Club Assistant Programme (already launched in Brisbane)
