There was some great news for The Gap Football Club in this week’s State budget.

Government Minister and Member for Ashgrove, Kate Jones, has formally advised us that funding for a $400,000 grant to upgrade our playing fields and renovate and expand the clubhouse was included in this year’s budget.

“I understand this investment will help your club to including an upgrade to your water storage and irrigation equipment, improve field lighting, and expand clubhouse facilities,” Ms Jones said.

“I know your club is one of the largest football clubs in Queensland and these improvements will enable the club to host more players for training and competition.

“This funding also recognises the great efforts of The Gap Football Club in encouraging more people to get involved in local sports.”

Gap FC President, Arch Bevis said “This is a wonderful boost for our 1300 members in our 60th year. The State Government’s support will enable the club to improve our operations and support for our players and the wider community.”
