The Gap FC is excited to announce the addition of Bree Wallace for the 2021 NPLW season. Bree comes to the Gators after three seasons with the QAS NPLW Senior Women.

An attacker turned defender, Bree will add a depth of experience to the Gap’s young and emerging 2021 squad. Her passion for football began at the age of six where she grew up playing against the boys at Gin Gin Football Club. Bree was first selected in the QLD representative team at the age of 12 before joining the NPLW Sunshine Coast Fire U13 and U15 teams.

In 2017, Wallace was selected in the QLD U14 National Youth Team at which QLD won the National Championship. In the same year, she made the U15 QLD School Girls Squad.

Invited to trial for the U18 Brisbane Roar NTC Squad, Wallace was selected in 2018, and again represented the state at the National Youth Championships. This period saw the attacker transition into a defensive player and has since competed in the NPLW senior women’s competition with the QAS.

Now in the next chapter of her career, Wallace says, “I am excited to join the Gap Football family and am looking forward to being part of a strong, united community sharing a common goal to inspire players to be accountable, to work hard and empower others. I look forward to the support network that will come with being part of The Gap and to sharing the highs and lows with like-minded strong women. I am very excited to see how our squad will grow under the guidance of the new coaching staff and of supporting each other both on and off the pitch as we step up against the strong talent in the 2021 NPLW season.”

The Gap FC NPLW Technical Director and Senior Women’s Coach Mick Gallo was full of praise for the signing of Wallace. “A committed and strong-minded athlete and young woman, Bree will add maturity and leadership, as well as the experience she has gained over the last three seasons competing in the state’s top tier competition. I am looking forward to improving and developing Bree as a player and seeing her transition into the role of an attack-minded defender. Bree is a very technical player that fits the mould of what we see as the next crop of Gap FC footballers.”

The Gap FC welcomes Bree to the family and wishes her all the best for the 2021 season.
