The Gap Football club is assured a finals place after 5 consecutive wins. With a win in our last game of the season and at home,  a loss by Slacks Creek could see us in 2nd spot and in the play offs for promotion to the Premier 1 Division.

I am very grateful and thankful for the people who have worked behind the scenes so far, and especially my assistant coach Steve Maugham for all the hard work he has done.  I am very pleased and proud of all my players as they are all playing with discipline, responsibility and as a team.

We secured 3rd spot with a very good display of disciplined football against Moggill on Saturday night, Dom Kibby and Brendan Zarrafa tore them apart up front with Brendan finally getting his hat trick, Mr Reliable (Kibby) scoring from the penalty spot and final goal from Ian Stephens to make it 5-0 to us.

I am very grateful to The Gap Pastime Club for giving me this opportunity again as Senior Coach . This is only my 2nd year in Brisbane and I am working very hard to rebuild the Football club.  With a very difficult last season we are now seeing some results for all our patience and hard work.  To make this a memorable night at the club I would urge all coaches, managers and players from all teams to please show their support on Saturday night 6pm kick off against Gap V Bayside United. With a big vocal crowd we will not let you down and hopefully we will all be part of the history in the making.  The success of the Senior Men’s team will have a snowball effect right throughout our club as our women’s teams have done in the past, we are all very proud of their efforts and what they have done for our Club.

To Lee Gannon what a difference grass makes.

So lets all be united and show our support and hopefully it will make for a memorable night for all.

Regards

Gerry McAvoy
