Not sure if that Fred Allen chap ever attended a committee meeting but it didn’t stop him commenting.
“A committee is a group of the unprepared, appointed by the unwilling to do the unnecessary,” he was quoted as saying.
And Barnett Cocks chipped in with: A committee is a cul-de-sac down which ideas are lured and then quietly strangled.
Well, for their information The Gap women’s committee recently held a very informative and productive meeting last week.
One of the items discussed was the club’s presentation night.
We aren’t even halfway through the season yet plans are already underway for another great end of season knees up.
Anyway, there’s an open invitation to attend the next committee meeting to be held on Wednesday, July 16 at 7pm.
The venue is Laura Brunning’s place at 41 Ridgway Street, The Gap.

• Don’t forget to return your wine order form as soon as possible; and
• Don’t forget to enrol your child in the upcoming coaching clinic to be held at the club during the school holidays.
Gap loses legend but welcomes new recruits

The Gap Premier League plans to unleash its two new recruits from Peninsula, Courtney Beutel and Susanne McKeen, in the second
verses third catch up match against Redlands on Thursday night.
The game is critical for the Premiers feint premiership aspirations and indeed for its top four aspirations.
Fifth placed Easts are only one point behind The Gap so every game is vital.
Both Courtney and Susanne are great recruits.
Susanne is a Gap local and under-17 Queensland player while Courtney is a lightning quick striker with a high workrate.
“It is great to have these two quality players onboard”, said the club’s director of coaching Rob Askew.
“They both add depth to what was looking like a very thin squad after the loss of Annie Whalley.”
“Annie’s season-ending injury, in particular, is a massive loss for us as she is the best fullback in the competition and an experienced leader
in our team.
“She is very determined individual so we expect her to get over this obstacle and see her back soon.
“We all wish her well and hope to see her back on the park soon.”
