Premier League

Training for The Gap’s championship winning Premier League team starts on Tuesday, 8th January at The Gap State High School at 7pm sharp. Training will be Tuesdays and Thursdays with a weekend session as well. While a number of girls are away overseas a good turnout is expected along with some very good new signings. The Premier League squad, along with some youth team players, will be attending a team building camp at Emu Gully once again. Camp was an integral part of last year’s success and the coaching staff believe it will be an important part of another very successful season. Coach Mel Andreatta believes the team spirit at The Gap is the best in Brisbane and that it helps give the squad that edge needed to be successful.

Any player interested in being part of The Gap should contact Director of Coaching Rob Askew on 3351 5335.

The team formerly known as the Youth Team

While Football Brisbane has abolished the Premier Youth competition The Gap continues to run its Youth Team in the under 16 Division 1 competition.

Director of Coaching Rob Askew says the change is merely in name only. “Our team will still play in the best under 16 competition and will still be the key development side for our Premier League squad,” Rob said.

“Players will continue to be given opportunities to play in Reserve grade and higher and will still be part of a pathway that takes them through to the best club side in Brisbane Women’s soccer.”Our under 14 academy side will continue on as another key part of our youth development program the same as last year coached by former World Cup player Pam Grant.”Any players who want to be part of our youth development program should contact Rob Askew on 3351 5335.
