Many of you are probably unaware that the football club is a member of the Save Our Waterways Now (SOWN) group which has done much to improve the surrounds of the creeks in our area.

This Sunday, as part of National Tree Day, the local SOWN group will be undertaking further improvements of the creek which runs alongside the club.

Activities will be taking place between 10:00am and noon.

The details are as follows:

SOWN is celebrating National Tree Day by joining with The Gap Football Club to plant out a section of Enoggera Creek adjacent to The Gap Football Club, Glenaffric Street, The Gap.

The event will run from 10:00am to noon on Sunday 29th July. Site access is via the club car park. Please walk around the edge of the football fields.

The site was planted some years ago. There are lots of beautiful mature trees but few shrubs and smaller plants. So we will be infill planting, right on the creek banks.

Turn up on the day with a hat, covered shoes, a trowel and a smile!

Planting will be followed by a sausage sizzle.
